CULTURE shock in your LANGUAGE
The word 'F*!#$' is one word which I believe is the most used in everyday life of the GenNext. Not only the F word but there are many other words which were trapped in a thick dictionary with few synonyms of the same earlier. But now the scenario is such that all these so-called censored words irrespective of their language are used as a kind of jewel in the language of today's youth. The sentences seem to be plain vanilla without these cherries on the top.
As per a latest article in The Economic Times: Brand Equity the usage of the F word and other words is termed as the "Cuss Culture". This kind of culture prevails nowadays everywhere we go. This is the word handling which proves to be pain in the *## for the editor or the person who adds a beep sound in reality shows in place of these cuss words. But on the contrary; these barred words are very much acceptable in the western culture where there are many songs using these kinda words and are hitting the top list.
Even, I have listened couple of songs with this cuss word and many more of the same genre. There is no discrimination as to who will use this word: male/female or kids everyone is using the cuss language as one kind of accessory in their look; it has now become their daily dose to use this word. May be the GenNext thinks that if they will not use this word they will be termed as out-caste and old fashioned in any community they step into. Being hip-hop-stylish-funky may be the other name of using this language. But isn't it the transition of an Indian kid into the shoes of a kid from the western culture? Ot ot is the transition from the Indian culture where earlier these actions/words were not used in open environment to the western culture where it has become a part and parcel of their lives.
The dictionary meaning of the word F is rather very straight and to the point; but it is one act which is used and depicted in a very rude manner. This can be addressing some one with the word or abusing using bad words for various parts of the human anatomy.
At this juncture I am bound to ask: What the F is goin on?
